Action Alert: Renounce Torture

On Thursday, the Senate will begin consideration of nominee Alberto Gonzales as the new Attourney General. You thought John Ashcroft was bad with his 3 Patriot Acts? Folks, you haven't seen anything yet! Alberto Gonzales is a torture architect; you can't put it any more simpler than that. This is the man that suggested the use of torture in places like Abu Graib, the man who told the president that he is "above the law" during a time of war. He is an absolute mad-man and he must not be put into office (of course, they'll probably have Dick Cheney give the Senate a lilttle fear mongering pep-talk to make sure he gets in - that's how they passed the Freedom Reform bill). When Geoge Bush announced his nomination, many people on the left were outraged. This of course started a counter-point by many of the ignorant on the right (note: they're ignorant because they don't look at the issues, not cause they're "on the right") claiming that "liberals" would appose even that of Jesus Christ if he were to be nominated by a conservative. So bubble-buster me came in and provived sources to my claims about Alberto Gonzales being a torture architect (of course, many of the Bush-worshipers brushed it all off). This is absurd. Look at the facts! This man is just one more nail in the coffin that the New World Order is placing for us. Do the country a favor and stand against this. Denounce torture, and tell your senator to do the same!

Do you want someone as your Attourney General who approves of torture? Under the new Patriot Act 2, U.S. Citizens can be declared Enemy Combatants (section 101). So guess what they do to enemy combatants? Abu Graib ring a bell? Guantanamo? It's not that hard to get the Patriot Act pressed on you - they've been abusing it for over a year now (ask Pufferbelly Toys!). Now is the time to take action, and let your senator know that you don't want a torture architect in office as a Attourney General!
